Messiah – G.F. Handel
At the premiere of Handel’s Messiah on 13 April 1742 in The Great Music Hall in Dublin, dignitaries—including the King—stood in awe during the “Hallelujah” chorus to pay tribute to this powerful composition.
The musicians perform on authentic string instruments, complemented by natural trumpets and timpani. Messiah is the most beloved oratorio during the Christmas season. Experience the unique atmosphere that so distinctly characterizes Handel’s masterpiece.
Soloists
The choir and orchestra share an equal role in this world-famous oratorio. In addition, you will hear a number of outstanding soloists. Olga Zinovieva delivers beautiful soprano arias with her sensitive and pure tone. Countertenor Clint van der Linde and tenor Martinus Leusink possess impressive Baroque voices. The renowned German bass Thilo Dahlmann makes his appearance with his intense voice and commanding presence.
